PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

The program will offer a unique Level 7 Certificate in Implant Restorations that has not been offered in the UK before.

Contemporary holistic practice requires that dentists are able to discuss, plan and deliver dental implant treatment. Dental implants are an established mode of treatment for tooth replacement that every clinician must become familiar with to enable them to deliver comprehensive ethical care for their patients.

The blended learning program with an online platform allows delegates to learn at their own pace with hours of high impact on demand video tutorials from the comfort of their chosen learning space and 4 contact face-face days to implement the essential steps. The modular structure will allow the GDP to diagnose, plan and understand the full implant journey and guide the surgeon to ensure an implant restoration that is placed for function and aesthetics.

MEET THE TEAM

Dr Nik Sissodia

Nik is in private practice in London and has been an implant mentor and trainer to dentists at all levels, from GDP to registered specialists for many years.

He lectures internationally on implant and restorative dentistry and is a former associate clinical teacher at the University of Warwick. He is respected as an opinion leader in implant dentistry in the UK and he was previously a Module Leader on the now discontinued Advanced Diploma in Dental Implantology at the Royal College of Surgeons Eng.

Nik is founding member and past President of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Member of the Association of Dental Implantology, former Country Chairman for the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry and serves on the editorial review board of the International Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is currently the President of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

He is a partner and Clinical Director at the renowned Ten Dental referral practice which was recognised as Best Referral Practice and Best Practice in the UK 2017 at the highly coveted and prestigious Private Dentistry Awards

Dr Martin Wanendeya

Martin graduated from the University of Bristol in 1995 and has been a partner at Ten Dental, a specialist referral practice in Clapham, south London, since 2004. His focus at the practice is on implant and Aesthetic Dentistry.

He holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a lecturer in the Master in Aesthetics program at the University of Frankfurt. Martin has received the advanced-level Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and is also a tutor on the same program. He is a full member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

He has co-authored a chapter on FP1 full arch prosthetics in the book “Graftless Solutions for the Edentulous Patient”, published by Springer.

Martin’s expertise extends to digital implant dentistry and smile design, and he has delivered international lectures on all aspects of implant dentistry.

Dr Riaz Yar

Dr. Riaz Yar graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1999 and completed his specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester in 2011. Riaz is also an Internal examiner for the Membership of Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons England.

As well as completing the specialty prosthodontic training, Riaz has undertaken a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies (DPDS) with the University of Bristol and a Diploma in Implant Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

Dr Yar lectures nationally and internationally and has most recently completed his Masters in Soft Tissue around Implants and Teeth with Professor Zucchelli (Bologna) and completing his PG Cert in Education. He also a Visiting Professor in Prosthodontics at the College of Medicine and Dentistry – Birmingham / Ulster University. His main topic of interest is TMD and Occlusion.

Dr Sanjay Sethi

Sanjay Sethi qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1993 with BDS. He is in private practice in London and has a special interest in aesthetics and implants in dentistry.

He has lectured extensively internationally. He is a full member and Past President of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and is also a member of the ADI.

Sanjay is involved with teaching independent courses and a diploma program and is director of the Aesethix and Elevate education programs.

Dr Nik Sethi

Nik qualified from King’s College London in 2009. He has a Master of Science degree in aesthetic dentistry, also at King’s College London. Since then he has established himself in private practice in London under the training of Dr Sanjay Sethi, with a keen interest for restorative treatment.

Nik has attended several highly respected year courses on restorative dental training including a year course with Tidu Mankoo and Basil Mizrahi and most recently the full fixed prosthodontic programme by Mauro Fradeani in Italy. Nik became a full member of the British Academy of Aesthetic dentistry in 2017 and currently serves on the Executive Council.

Nik provides regular teaching courses and set up the Aesethix training academy and is a proud director of the Elevate Dental Academy along with Dr Riaz Yar and Sanjay Sethi.

Treatment planning in Implant prosthodontics – 3 months

  • Case selection/criteria – red flags – surgical and restorative – which cases are suitable and timing within restorative journey
  • Radiology – what radiographs are needed for Implant restorative perspective
  • Consent – medico-legal process within implant dentistry
  • Photography – documenting the implant process
  • Log book – creating a logbook to record and Implant passport record
  • Use of diagnostic templates in anterior and posterior
  • Provisional restorations for missing teeth
EDUCATIONAL AIMS:
  • Introduce students to Restorative Implant dentistry principles
  • Provide students with a pragmatic approach to solve common communication problems using various techniques
  • Equip students with the necessary critical appraisal skills to allow for evidence-based judgments
